Albert Monreal Quihuis is an award-winning author of an adventure series about Sofia and Pepe the Parrot. He writes multicultural books to inspire children to learn more about their culture, traditions, history, and being proud of their heritage. Throughout his stories and readings, he encourages young people to further their education and lets them know that “there is no reason why you can’t.” He pays tribute to his ancestors and brings to light their challenges and sacrifices.

Albert’s most recent book is Better Than Me: Three Generations of Inner Strength. In 2019, it received two International Latino Book Awards: Most Inspirational Young Adult Book and Best Latina Themed Book. This is the true story of women’s hardship, tragedies, and their courageous inner strength to survive so the next generation could have a better life.

Quihuis is a gifted and skilled bilingual storyteller. He reflects his importance in the Western geographical region in the United States as a serious and credible writer with pride in his own Latino culture.

Albert enjoys traveling, visiting historical sites, and researching for his next books. He enjoys speaking on writing, marketing, history, and leadership. He has served on many boards of directors and is an advocate for the Latino community. Albert often receives requests to do presentations and readings for organizations, conferences, schools, libraries, museums, and festivals.

Albert Monreal Quihuis is a native of Arizona, served in the United States Air Force, and graduated from Arizona State University. He discovered his passion for writing later in life and is amazed at the many doors that have opened up for him.
