New Meeting Location and Time
Even though we’re having a lovely summer break to rest and recuperate, your Phoenix Writers Club board members have been working hard to prepare for the return to business in September, and we’re excited to announce some wonderful news!
After the abrupt closure of our meeting location in May, we’ve taken a moment to reevaluate what the club is able to afford and how best to serve our club members in their writing goals.
With both those key determiners in mind, we were able to find a great location that will suit our needs: Devonshire Senior Center, 2802 E. Devonshire Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85016.
We also took the opportunity to refresh our meeting time. Starting with our September 21 meeting, we will meet from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and will follow our usual format: 10:00–10:30 networking; 10:30–11:00 club business and announcements; 11:00–12:00 speaker. There will be coffee, water, and bagels/pastries at the meeting, and you are welcome to bring your own sustainable water bottle, mug, etc.
With this new location and format, we’ve been able to lower the meeting fee, which is now $10 members, $15 guests, which covers the meeting facility charge, food and beverage offerings, and monthly speaker fee.
