Feminine Unfettered
1st Place Poem, Formidable Women Essay and Poetry Contest
Phenomenal females forging frontiers
Fictionalizing frailty, failure, and fears.
Ferocious in faith, fruitful in fortune
Fists facing firelight, fate unfolding.
Fused feminine spirits, focused, defiant
Funneling ambition, finishing first.
Fertile footprints fermenting in fields
Flowering flames, familiar and foreign.
Aw! The fortitude of formidable women!
Florence, the suffragettes, and Susan B,
Tubman, Adams, and Madame Curie,
Singer, Stopes, Rankin, and Keller.
Earhart, Parks, Fannie Lou, and Fitzgerald,
Maya, Walters, Ginsberg, and Gloria,
Aretha, Oprah, Clinton, and Kamala,
The forces! The forces! Perpetually unphased!
Farewell to fascists, fanatics, and phonies,
Feminine fortresses have flanked all sides,
Fighting with heart, forgiveness, and pride
For you, for me, and our sisters worldwide.
No foretelling a future unfixed, unframed,
Fraught with unfairness and foes untamed.
Still, righteously firm, fragrant, and sound,
Feminal forces will never stand down.
