Bert Haagenstad

Bert has been a writer since he was twelve years old. He grew up on South Dakota farms, where early on he developed a strong work ethic and hard work. However, he couldn’t deny his passion for writing and began composing in secret the stories that came from his dreams. “I dreamed in color most of the time and would remember the details—at least for a while. Then I quickly learned to take notes before the memories faded.” Some of Bert’s dreams were nightmares and a few repeated themselves. “For those he would sketch images, after which the nightmares would end.”

“I know that nothing will take away the thrill of putting my dreams into stories, books, and poems and with me being a storyteller.” It took many years for Bert to fulfill his desire to be a published author. He writes in several different genres from children’s books to murder mysteries and a dog training book. Being retired he can now write full-time.

Bert currently lives in Fridley Minnesota. You can find him at thestoryteller62.com and view his Interview with Spotlight show here.
