
Eric Miller is a business owner, engineer, writer, speaker, and tech community gadfly. He lived and worked in Phoenix, Arizona since graduating from UC Berkeley with a Mechanical Engineering degree. After a few years working in turbomachinery, he co-founded the southwest’s leading mechanical engineering products and services company, PADT. After his two sons left the nest, Eric became involved in the local tech ecosystem as a mentor, speaker, and writer, which culminated with four years as Chair of the Arizona Technology Council Board of Directors.
His writing career began when he started by writing technical articles for engineering trade magazines, and then authored much of the content for the company’s newsletter and extensive blog. He currently pens a monthly column for the Phoenix Business Journal, with over 200 articles since 2017. He also works as a freelance written content creator, writing about everything from software development management to advanced physics simulation. He earned a certificate from the Berkeley Extension writing program in 2024 and is working on his skills as a fiction writer. Branching into the audible world, Eric hosts three podcasts: All Things Ansys, TechFocus Member Spotlight, and The AZ TechCast. Eric has self-published two books: Better Blogging for Your Business and Introduction to the Ansys Parametric Design Language (APDL)
