26/26 prelude

3rd Place Poem, Formidable Women Essay and Poetry Contest
blood is a porch
with tiny ears
shortness of breath
round and roman
body is thought
its honey breast
flooding rich world
snares universe
in press of word
as soldiers die
with how and why
chalice and kiss
dress infinite
and portable
water’s wild spin
the hornet-rose
seeds permission
set chairs in rows
to martyrs’ march
deep tricks of wind
fire on mountains
five flaps of sea
split world with want
pass right to scream
the rite to see
